Meet Rocco!

Rocco - Looks so innocent :)
Blog readers... Meet Rocco! The newest addition to 1128 :)

Michelle and I jokingly say if only everyone could see and hear what the dog does everyone would get much laughter... It's a shock he still accepts us as his owners! He probably thinks we're crazy!

Rocco is a very kind hearted dog :) He follows Michelle and I everywhere, and sometimes feels the need to watch our every move. His favorite thing to do is fetch. He really likes the tennis ball that Aunt Heather gave him and anything that has a squeaker. Those don't last very long... apparently getting the squeaker out is like finding a toy in your cereal box. He enjoys drinking out of toilets, trying to lay on the couch and giving Michelle and I sad eyes until we finally break down and give him a piece of what we're eating.

Having a dog is definitely not what we expected it to be... brace yourselves, the stories are good...

The first night Rocco was home we thought he pooped on my pillow... (ew!)
I was getting ready for bed and Michelle came running in and said "Rocco did something gross on your pillow!" so, naturally, I freaked out and ran over towards it but not too close. Whatever it was looked mighty disgusting. A few minutes later I walked up to my pillow as Michelle stood about 10 feet or so away and I picked it up with my bare hands. Michelle’s face = priceless. Happens to be that what we thought was crap on my pillow was only a tan colored Scooby Doo dog treat :)  After that, we knew having Rocco in our lives was going to be a good experience.

Walking Rocco on a leash is kind of hard… We’re gradually getting better… One of the first days we had him I was walking him down the sidewalk and he was ready to go back inside. It had been raining earlier that day and our front porch was slightly damp. Taking a leap from the sidewalk to the porch was not a good idea. The minute my foot hit the ground, I slipped and fell right on all fours. Rocco looked at me with his head turned as the lady across the street kept asking if I was okay. I was so wrapped up in laughter I couldn’t respond to her concern. That was the first of many falls while walking Rocco around. But like I said, he’s getting better :)

Big  thanks those who answer all the silly dog questions! Greatly appreciated!!!

Lot's more stories to come :)
